Lichtblau Cobra in the cyberspace

We already mentioned the Cobra from _lichtblau_ on the blog and since he also did wonderful building instructions, everyone can build his own. As long as he has enough orange and light blue bricks :) I think an average Lego builder usually does not have, even in other colors. So I thought I improve the situation a bit.
Voila, the virtual Cobra, built in Lego Digital Designer:
It is not exactly like the original (wheels, body lines, etc.). But it can be loaded into LDD with a click and ordered immediately (approx. $37.47 in the US, EUR 28.14 in Germany). It has 137 pieces. Or you can pimp it on your computer :)

I plan to upload other LDD models too.

Arvo Ford GT Le Mans

The Arvo brothers have created a new cult car, the Ford GT Le Mans. The result speaks for it self. Looking at the pictures I have the impression that it is in fact created with glue and and there is modelling clay inside. In short, it looks good.

8265 Wheel Loader Mod

Nagy Abonyi Attila has created this wonderful 8265 Wheel Loader modification. As a result the loader is now fully motorized and can be controlled with an IR remote. The loader was also mentioned on TechnicBRICKs, congratulations!

More pics in Attila's BrickShelf folder.

8458 variation

We did not covered the 8458 Silver Champion race car on the blog yet. Nevertheless, one of our faithful readers, gzurti pointed me to this model built by Nathanel Kuipers using only parts available in 8458.

It was admittedly inspired by 8448 Super Street Sensation and while it does not seem to be as professional as factory sets it is nice enough so that I feel tempted to build it :)

Nathanel was so thorough that he provided full building instructions so it can be built by anyone havin a 8458 (or a blue-white 8461).

Trains from Tony Sava

Lego bricks are not only for cars and aircraft, one can make locomotives as well. Just like Tony Sava does it. He introduced his newest creation, the Chesapeake & Ohio H8 Allegheny class locomotive that is the biggest locomotive ever made. Its empty weight is no less than 328 tons and fully prepared it can weight more than 480 tons!
His creations include smaller locomotives like this American Standard engine that can be bought by $135 in the Bricklink store:

Mustang at scale

Now that we talk about Mustang - the grand master of pneumatic engines nicjasno published a whole album about the details of his own Mustang. This is much larger than mine and its main task is to test pneumatic engines, but it is very impressive on its own. At about 30 studs wide it is very similar to the details of a real car.

gzurti's LDraw page

I wrote about LDraw a while back. One of my faithful readers sent a link to his creations:

It is worth to have a look at what LDraw is capable of in the hands of a pro.

Lego aircraft

Brothers-brick is full of aircraft again, it is worth to take a look. The galleries of the four best creators:
As a teaser, one image from Mad Physicist with the description "all the aircraft and helicopter models (scaled 1/36) that I currently still have in one piece.". It counts no less than 29 models :)
